Are you ready to get goats?
4Goat School is now in session!
Join us for a 2-day, in-person course that focuses on everything you need to know for a successful first year with goats.
This course is offered April 24-25, 2027 10:00am-4:00pm.
Each day includes classroom instruction and discussion in the morning and early afternoon at the workshop facility in Rosemont, NJ. The day wraps up with hands-on experiences with the goats at Gorgeous Goat Creamery, just 4 miles down the road. You’ll get the opportunity to try trimming hooves, administer deworming medication, give a routine vaccine, and milk the goats. In addition, you will leave with the Goat School® Manual for reference and expertise at your fingertips. This immersive experience is more than you can ever gain from YouTube or an online course. You will graduate with confidence.
Topics addressed at Goat School: choosing your new goats, goat housing and fences, routine care, breeding, kidding, medical problems, nutrition, milking, record-keeping, predator concerns, hoof-trimming, tattooing, and much more
About the instructor: Join Maria Stewart, a certified Quality Dairy Goat producer, at her Grade A goat dairy farm in central New Jersey. She started with goats as a homesteader, enjoying making cheese in her kitchen and utilizing the goats’ brush clearing skills to improve the health of her forest. Her original herd of four goats has blossomed into an amazing dairy farm of 90 Alpine goats and 4 Nigerian Dwarf goats. She will share stories of joy, anticipation, frustration and loss from her 7 years working with these amazing animals.
Location: We are located in central New Jersey, approximately 90 minutes from New York City and 75 minutes from Philadelphia. Goat School is held at our teaching space, 99 Kingwood Stockton Rd, Rosemont New Jersey 08556 and at the farm itself, 71 Featherbed Ln, Stockton, New Jersey 08559. The teaching space and the farm are an 8 minute drive from each other. If you are coming from out of town, we recommend booking accommodations in one of the nearby communities of Frenchtown NJ, Lambertville NJ, or New Hope PA. These are all charming towns along the Delaware River that will offer plenty to do after you finish class for the day. There are shops, cafes, restaurants, bar, and entertainment nearby.

A note about Goat School from Maria…
This amazing curriculum has been offered for the past decade in Central Maine by two different goat farmers, most recently Joy and Tim Bueschen of Turning Page Farm. So many students have learned critical skills and foundational knowledge by attending Goat School. Did you know I’m a 2018 Goat School Alumni?!? Yes! That’s right! Goat School help me solidify my decision to purchase our first four goats in 2018. I can’t wait to offer the same opportunity for you! In 2025, Goat School officially moved to New Jersey and it will be exclusively offered at Gorgeous Goat Creamery. We can’t wait to have you join Goat School!
